Champions League Twenty20 Reschedule

Champions League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament Rescheduled due to Mumbai Terrorist Attacks.

The highly estimated Champions League Twenty20 tournament, scheduled in December 3, 2008 has been rescheduled due to security problems subsequent Wednesday's terrorist attack in Mumbai, which caused over 190 lives.

Mysterious gunmen used automatic weapons and lobbed grenades in few 5-star hotels, a famous restaurant, hospitals, a railway station, a busy market and outside a movie theater in Mumbai on Wednesday night 26th November. This was the worst terrorist attack in India which has witnessed since a decade.

An intelligence report officer discloses that these terrorists belong to Deccan Mujahideen. They took foreigners as hostages and killed three foreigners so far -, a British, a Japanese and an Australian.

These terror attacks frightened the organizers of Champions League Twenty20 cricket which is scheduled at Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai from Dec 3-10and it has been postponed.

The decision was made the tournament's three founding board members of by India, Australia and South Africa. The bottom line of the meeting was about the security situation in Mumbai. But they did not give statement regarding the commencement of the tournament.

Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi said the tournament would possibly be conducted after January, 2009. India will be the venue and all the cricket teams declared that they are looking forward to contribute in the tournament," Modi said.

Accusing the "immoral and terrible criminal act of terrorists which has caused the loss of precious lives of more than hundred citizens and injuring many others," Modi said the all the cricketers are with the bereaved families "in their hour of grief."
